My kindle Review

Posted by Lew on January 28, 2009

Hi and thanks so much for returning to my blog. RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

I had written in a previous post about this ” New Fangled ” technology, and how much I really loved it, in regards to my new I-Pod….but now I’ve really gone and done it now!

I don’t know how familiar you might be with these new hand held reading devices..you know readers that will actually let you down load and store full, first run copies of books…

What you are looking at here is Amazon’s ” Kindle “,

an ” Electronic Reading ” device and I think ( for me and my lifestyle of clutter! ) this could be the start of a beautiful relationship. I have so many hardcover books, like books in the ” Shannara ” series of books from prolific author ” Terry Brooks “, to all of my ” Star Trek ” paperbacks, this device lets you download and electronically store full novels, which I think is just fantastic, and will certainly please the wife, as far as my stopping collecting magazines ( no, don’t worry dear reader, I’ll still need to collect my comics! ), books an the like, and truth to tell, it won’t hurt me to become a bit more organized, and less of a pack rat!

Coming Up…

Posted by Lew on January 27, 2009

Hi Everyone.

Quick post as to what’s going to be coming up here on ” My Domestic LIfe ”

Domestic Guy is going to drop by sometime this week to finish his piece on making a ” Tuna Fish ” meal…I can’t wait!

I’m going to go over the results from my experiment ” A Positive Mental Outlook ”

And I’m going to do a ” Review ” of a piece of tech that I now have owned for a few months and I think is just great…and I think you might just think so also.

A Positive Mental Outlook Ends

Posted by Lew on January 26, 2009

Good Morning.

I wanted to let everyone know that as of yesterday morning, I have decided to end this experiment about ” A Positive Mental Outlook “, and I want to thank everyone who was following my little experiment. I will be following this up with my conclusions about this in a future post coming very soon.

You And The Opposite Sex…

Posted by Lew on January 25, 2009

Can you be just friends with the opposite sex?

An interesting question…wish I’d thought of it!

But luckily it was asked over at ” Single Minded Life ” ( hummmm, single minded…might be why I didn’t think of it! ) and I want to share just a bit of this post…

So tell me: Do you have friends of the opposite sex? And how has that worked out?

What A Surprise!

Posted by Lew on January 24, 2009

Hey there!

While doing a GOOGLE search for other blogs that would be similar to this blog right here ( that I hope ) your reading, I found out ( and quite unexpectedly I might add ) that ” My Domestic Life ” was actually on the second page of the search results!

Here is the link for the search results…” Domestic Life Blogs ” you’ll find ” My Domestic Life ” listed seven links down on this page!

Now it might not sound like a big whoop to some, but to this old ” Domestic Guy ” it certainly brought a little grin to my otherwise, hard,  chiseled, domestic face!

I look forward to more traffic in the future because of this and hopefully with some other blogger interaction.

Just Another Stressed Out Domestic Thursday.

Posted by Lew on January 23, 2009

Wow, was yesterday ever a stressed out day for me or what!

Work itself was just hectic, with lots of things that needed attending to right from when I walked in the door.

Then left to head out to my doctor’s appointment ( as I’m sure everyone knows by now, I wind up seeing more ” Specialists Now ” due to my CSS than I ever did in my entire domestic guy life!) and while I am in generally great health, my Blood pressure was ” High “.

Gee, I can’t imagine why it would have been high yesterday!

And after I got out of there, I stopped at ” Petco ” to buy another ” Saltwater Fish “, but left empty handed!

A Positve Mental Outlook-Week 3, Day 4

Posted by Lew on January 22, 2009

Welcome to day 4 in my third week of this experiment.

Have to be honest here, I’m feeling more tired today than positive Worked late last night, and went to bed after 11pm, which for me in general anymore is not something I’m able to tolerate for consecutive days..

I want to let everyone know about a change to the experiment as far as taking my Blood Sugar tests are concerned…I know that this comes a bit late in the game for me ( and for you, I know ) but I have decided to start taking my sugar tests ” every other day ” so in other words, I took my sugar yesterday, and will not do so today, but rather tomorrow.

Another thing that has been happening has been another attempt to lower my dosage of Prednisone. Right now I’m down to 25mgs a day of pred, and already I am noticing some slight effects due to this, such as a bit more congestion in my chest and my nose, so we shall wait and see how I progress.

I did do some exercise last night and for a few moments, I did feel like I did years earlier…and I’ll explain this to everyone a bit later.

Balance And A Positive Mental Outlook

Posted by Lew on January 21, 2009

We all lead busy lives don’t we?

You get up, have your breakfast, get your kids off to school ( if you happen to have any ) or possibly get your husband or wife off to their job, and then either your off to your job or ( if your lucky enough ) your off to your ” Home Office ” to begin your day.

But then there are the ” Little Distractions ” in between that also happen…

  • The phone call from the school nurse
  • Your husband or wife just lost their job
  • You are overdrawn at the bank

A Positive Mental Outlook-Week 3, Day 3

Posted by Lew on

Good Morning.

I’m going to make this a quick post, as I just kind of feel that the morning is getting away from me here…

Blood sugar was 84mgs, still a bit low but that’s okay.

I already did my inspirational read  from Joel Osteen just a little while ago, and I did pick up on something in it’s message today that I’d like to share here…

You crown the year with a bountiful harvest; even the hard pathways overflow with abundance” (Psalm 65:11, NLT).

Today’s Word from Joel and Victoria
