Hi and thanks so much for returning to my blog. RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!
Okay, so how exactly might one begin an experiment focusing on the power of a ” Positive Mental Outlook “? How about thru ” Positive Inspiration “, and what I mean for me in this case is reading a ” Daily Devotional ” from someone of ” Faith “.
I openly admit that I was never one to go religiously to ” Temple ” as I was never raised religiously per se…and in some respects maybe this was an area in my life where a bit of ” Religious Faith ” might have been a ( wait for it ) Godsend…sorry, I just couldn’t help it.
And so who does someone of little faith latch themselves onto…certainly not someone who preaches with ” Fire & Brimstone ” as an approach, no not for me thanks.
I actually turned to someone who I feel sends a powerful message of faith, without all of the traditional trappings of religion and faith, per se.
Joel Osteen, was someone who I happened to find after the loss of my father, Louis back in 05.
Mind you, I did not go out seeking someone with a ” Religious Message “, after losing my father, I was very disillusioned and lost as a person in general.
Having my Mother here with us at the time, did not make matters any better, and this was not her fault really ( at least not in this particular aspect of things at the time ) as the loss of my father just drove home my own dissolution with my life at that moment..life, work, even family…they all just really were not the greatest aspects in my life at that moment in time…I was very angry and bitter with just about everything, and had been for quite some time.
And than one Sunday in September, I happened across someone on television I had never seen before…a smiling preacher from a church named ” Lakewood “…his name of course was Joel Osteen.
I wound up buying Joel’s first publication, and that was it for me.
Today, I still follow Joel’s messages when I am in need of inspiration and maybe even sometimes faith.
and when I feel I’m slipping a bit or in need of something to hold and grab onto, I turn to Joel and his messages.
And this is what I will be using as part of my experiment starting today.
Part of my daily routine will be to read Joel’s ” Today’s Word With Joel and Victoria “, something I receive in my email mostly daily.
Yes, this might not be the most auspicious of beginnings ever in an experiment, but everything needs a beginning.
