Hi and thanks so much for returning to my blog. RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!
Hi everyone.
I have often spoken on this blog about living life the very best we are able to even when you have a vascular disease.
I came across what I consider a very inspirational story from the blog ” Newark Advocate ” and the story is about Double Amputee Fred Lowery, who back in 2002 was diagnosed with Vasculitis.
Okay, this is not a related CSS or Vasculitis post, but rather another in a series that I would like to feature here on the blog about eating healthy, which frankly is something that everyone now a days should be thinking about so..
From the blog ” Eat Smart Age Smart ” my twitter friend Krizia has a new post about eating Sweet Potatoes that I think some of you reading this blog might find an interesting read, so just click here to go to this post.
There is a lot of discussion on several sites about the Swine Flu Shot, and this information should certainly be read about if you happen to have a vascular disease, so I have included a link to an article on USA Today Online titled ” Swine flu: What you need to know “.
Is the vaccine safe? What if one child in a family is sick? What are the symptoms? When should a person go to the hospital? The man in charge answers these and other questions about this fall’s influenza pandemic.
As director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, Dr. Anthony Fauci is the government’s point man for tracking flu and finding answers to it. He and his team have been monitoring the H1N1 swine flu pandemic since its early days this spring. With the flu spreading rapidly now, and a new vaccine arriving this week, Fauci met Tuesday with USA TODAY’s editorial board to address the many questions that are on people’s minds. The following Q&A is adapted from that session and edited for length and clarity.
The changing colors of the leaves, that brisk chill in the air in the early morning, the oft times balmy afternoons…
And all of that great Chest Congestion!
I have to tell you that at times it’s just a big pain to have to wake up, and take at least 20 to 30 minutes to clear out your nose and chest from all of that great mucous!
Well, anyway, just thought I would share a little venting with everyone who might be going through this same exact thing!
Sorry that I’ve been away for the past few days, but I’m pretty sure that a lot of you are aware that my daughter, Samantha Lee Newmark was in the hospital for the past week and was finally released yesterday afternoon. Sam has to have a followup appointment with her doctor tomorrow, so for me it’s time to get back to the business of bringing awareness to the masses about what you and I share…a Vascular disease..in my particular case Churg Strauss Syndrome.
So while I have been looking through my email alerts, there was a new one about a book that was on Amazon.com, and I want to feature it here today…
With my daughter still in the hospital, I have really not had the time to do much writing here and on my other blog, so for the moment the best I will be doing is doing some news updating over the weekend, but sometime this weekend I will manage to work in the beginnings of the case study for the natural remedy to asthma.
I made this comment earlier today on Twitter…” It really is amazing how unimportant ” most things become ” when you have a child or other loved one who is taken ill suddenly “
My daughter, Samantha was suddenly taken ill late Sunday into this morning, and while my wife and I are waiting for more answers as to what exactly has happened to her and why, what I do know is that she has had a drop in her ” Blood Platelet ” count…a drop that could have proven fatal to her and so last night my wife and I found ourselves waiting in the same hospital where I have found myself in several times over the past few years and I am very familiar with by this time Horton Memorial Hospital.
Now while I have been to this hospital whether as a visitor or as a son seeing a parent, my daughter has not become as familiar as I…not that this is a bad thing mind you, but when a child ( even at twenty six years of age ) is forced into a hospital stay, the getting your blood pressure taken through all hours of the night, and all the blood work that is usually required, along with YOU actually being the patient, rather than the visitor can be a harrowing first experience..but as my wife and I returned home after 3am this morning…and I awoke again after seven to start getting myself together to see our daughter and try to also talk with her specialist as far as her treatment goes…I had to do the ancillary work…the phone calls to everyone concerned…
And while speaking to people from my daughter’s job, and then having to make the phone calls to those at my job…it dawned on me as to how much none of this ( here is my favored term for this…) Non-Sense or ” Busy Garbage ” work in the big scheme of things took little to no preference in my little world at the moment…
Here is another voice in the fight to bring awareness to Churg Strauss Syndrome and in other health related areas.
Tina’s new blog is called ” Hope For Those Affected By a Chronic Illness: Stories, Struggles, and Helpful Tips. ” and the blog address is http://www.hope4chronicillness.com/
I just took a look at Tina’s blog and she has some pretty relevant posts there so please go and check her blog out today.
In keeping with the proposed changes coming to this blog and trying to reach out to a broader reader base, I wanted to start posting some other ” Health ” related articles by folks who I come across on the net.
So, here is a new post written by Krizia from the up and coming blog ” Eat Smart Age Smart ” about the idea of Obesity Gradually Numbing Your Taste Sensation And Your Taste Buds?
