A Bad Week

Posted by Lew on February 21, 2010

Hey Everyone! :)

Well, to be fair, this has been a pretty bad week all in all for the case study ” A Natural Cure For Asthma “, as I have not been feeling too well for a good part of a week due to nasal congestion, and fighting a cold ( I would imagine, it’s a cold anyway! ) so by Thursday of this week, I had stopped taking the supplements, so that they would not get in the way of the meds I was using to keep me going as far as the cold and congestion went…not that they did a hell of a lot.

And I have not been updating as much as I’d like to lately due to some pressing financial matters that are causing me nothing but nightmares, and forcing me to concentrate more on other ways to earn cash without actually having to work another job ( not that my present condition would allow me to work a part time job, after I leave my current place of work ) so I’ve been doing a lot more Ebay as of late…as a matter of fact some of Friday and most of Saturday was devoted to taking pictures, and writing descriptions and getting all that ready to post as auctions, and most of today was spent listing items for sale on Ebay…but I have not forgotten that this blog and my readers are important, so starting tomorrow, a few updates and things that will be upcoming and I will have a new podcast ready to go by this Saturday, that will be talking about…Health Care and Medical Bills!

It’s going to be an interesting few days to be sure…thanks for hanging in there with me!

Breakfast The Most Complicated Meal Of Your Day

Posted by Lew on February 15, 2010

Ever wonder what the most complicated meal of the day really is…well in my opinion, it’s breakfast.

And of course it’s the most difficult because it’s the most important. a good breakfast in my opinion can really make or break the rest of your day, but just why is it ” The Most Complicated  Meal Of Your Day?”

I account this to Time…

I happen to be off from work today, and well due to the fact that I have more time to decide what to eat…the choices become more complicated.

My Case Study about A Natural Cure For Asthma Day 2

Posted by Lew on February 14, 2010

Good Evening Everyone.

Doing this post a bit later than I would have liked but was a bit busy today.

Well, today is day two of this case study, and all I did today was take the regular dosages of the three supplements, but I have noticed a bit of abominable stress since taking the supplements yesterday, but this might just be my system making adjustments but I will keep track of this matter.

Tomorrow, I will add exercise to the mix here, as I feel that exercise will be an important componant to this study, and of course, exercise in general is just a great, healthy thing in and of itself.

Beginning My Case Study: A Natural Cure For Asthma Part 2

Posted by Lew on February 12, 2010

Hey there everyone and welcome to the second part of this series focusing on my case study about A Natural Cure For Asthma.

Today’s focus is on the second supplement that I will be using during this study…

Vitamin D!

What is Vitamin D?

Vitamin D is a group of fat-soluble prohormones, the two major forms of which are vitamin2 (or ergocalciferol) and vitamin D3 (or cholecalciferol).[2] Vitamin D obtained from sun exposure, food, and supplements, is biologically inert and must undergo two hydroxylation reactions to be activated in the body. Calcitriol (1,25-Dihydroxycholecalciferol) is the active form of vitamin D found in the body. The term vitamin D also refers to these metabolites and other analogues of these substances. D

Calcitriol plays an important role in the maintenance of several organ systems.[3] However, its major role is to increase the flow of calcium into the bloodstream, by promoting absorption of calcium and phosphorus from food in the intestines, and reabsorption of calcium in the kidneys; enabling normal mineralization of bone and preventing hypocalcemic tetany. It is also necessary for bone growth and bone remodeling by osteoblasts and osteoclasts.[4][5]

Without sufficient vitamin D, bones can become thin, brittle, or misshapen. Deficiency can arise from inadequate intake coupled with inadequate sunlight exposure; disorders that limit its absorption; conditions that impair conversion of vitamin D into active metabolites, such as liver or kidney disorders; or, rarely, by a number of hereditary disorders. Vitamin D deficiency results in impaired bone mineralization and leads to bone softening diseases, ricketsosteomalacia in adults, and possibly contributes to osteoporosis.[3] in children and

Beginning My Case Study: A Natural Cure For Asthma

Posted by Lew on February 10, 2010

Evening Everyone.

Well, as the snow flies here in upstate NY, and my snow blower bites the dust yet again, I thought what better time to kick off this case study that I had started to do a while ago but never chronicled about ” A Natural Cure for Asthma ” and what had actually caused me to want to do this study was an article on the site Healthier Talk.com which had an article posted by Dr.Alan Inglis, called ” Natural Remedies Can Beat Drugs in Quest for Asthma Relief ”

So, the article itself intrigued me as I have suffered with some form of asthma, which I have talked about elsewhere on this blog, and thought that maybe this could be something of benefit for myself and for my readers to be able to follow along with in my journal.

I plan on starting this study this coming Saturday, but I want to start this case study by focusing on the supplements that I will be using…

An Article About Urticarial Vasculitis

Posted by Lew on February 9, 2010

Hey Everyone.

I found an article written by Emma Lloyd about Urticarial Vasculitis, another vascular condition I was unaware of.

Here is a snippit from the article below…

The first sign of urticaria vasculitis is painful, burning urticaria lesions. These painful sensations indicate that blood vessels are becoming inflamed. If itching is present it can become more severe as the inflammation worsens.

Vasculitis lesions are reddish in color, and are often pale in the center. There might be small spots of blood called petechiae under the skin.

Most people with this skin condition have a good prognosis, although healing is often slow. It is common for treatment to help resolve the condition within months, or occasionally a year or longer. In some cases, the disease may become chronic, requiring long-term treatment to manage the symptoms. This skin condition is only dangerous or life-threatening in cases where kidney or lung problems develop as a result of systemic disease.
