A New Year And New Goals For Churg Strauss Awareness

Posted by Lew on January 2, 2010

Hi and thanks so much for returning to my blog. RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

Hi everyone and welcome to the new year!

While I did not make any resolutions for this year, it does not mean that I am not goal driven.

In truth, I have a goal that I have set for the year 2012…to be working full time with my own non-profit organization that will be focused on benefiting CSS and other vascular diseases…but also with a larger goal..

My focus for this non-profit will also have to entail another website and or blog that will be focused on people like you and I who suffer from little known diseases, but who also do what they can to bring awareness to their disease and are examples of people who fight against their conditions everyday.

More on this in the future, as the concept is brought to fruition.

A Christmas Eve Message

Posted by Lew on December 24, 2009

Hi there everyone! :)

Well, if your reading this on Christmas Eve, then I have not been able to figure out just how to upload a ” Podcast ” file for the blog yet, but I will have it figured out soon enough.

Anyway, I wanted to take a moment and just say thank you to everyone out there who has taken the time over this year to come to ” Lew Newmark: My Domestic Life “, and read the posts contained within, and leave your comments and have also signed up as subscribers…and I want to just take a moment or two to talk about the holiday season, and how I feel about it…

During the Holiday Season, sometimes we can get caught up in the personal day to day business of living with our conditions and never really take a moment to just …” well just take it all in ” …and I know that this can be hard sometimes, and to be fair I am just as guilty as anyone of you out there when it comes to this..I do not want to burden any of my friends out there but again this year as in the last nine years now, has not been a picnic, but if there is one thing that I do know, it’s that I have come to appreciate the little bit of time that I allow myself at this time of year to surround myself with my closest friends and reach out to some friends that I cannot see everyday.

So, my message to all of you, who have become my ” Domestic Life ” friends, take the time to surround yourself with friends & family..because that’s what matters the most at this time of year.

I sometimes check into what folks are searching for when they come to my blog, and I found an interesting search the other day.

It seems that someone was searching here for the term ” how to cure Churg-Strauss Syndrome ”

So I decided to do two things with this search term..

  • first I searched the term using Google and tried the ” I feel Lucky ” click and the result I came back with led me to the ” Churg Strauss Association ” home page and this was the content that was shown…

Some Changes Coming To This Blog

Posted by Lew on October 12, 2009

Good Evening Everyone.

I’ve been taking a very hard look at ” Lew Newmark: My Domestic Life ” as of late, and I am starting to see that the blog needs to have a few changes done to make it a bit more user friendly in my opinion…so what can you expect to see..

  • Category Changes- I have noticed that my blog has way too many ” Categories ” and even I find it a bit confusing, so I will be whittling that down a bit.
  • A Forum-I want to promote a feeling of community here on the blog and have some open discussion here, so I will be implementing a forum area sometime in the near future.
  • A Podcast-I want to add a regular ongoing Podcast associated with this blog. More on this as it develops.
  • A Site Re-Design-I want to have a site design done sometime next year.

Okay, so why the changes?

The changes are just an extension of where I want my life to go and where I want to take the readers of this blog also…to tell the truth, I’m really excited to be able to offer a podcast associated with this blog.

Tattoos And The Vasculitis Patient

Posted by Lew on September 10, 2009

I find this post a bit ironic…

My daughter just came home last evening with a new Tattoo…I myself a few years ago ( just before I was diagnosed with CSS ) I had contemplated the thought of actually getting one myself…I was going to have something that would incorporate my wife”s and my name together with our astrological signs, entwined together in some fashion.

But after leaving Orange Regional Center last June with CSS, I had thought better of doing this as I did not want to complicate what would prove to be a disease that would stay with me forever ( at least for the moment until a cure is found ) and ultimately decided against doing the deed.

Last night while going through a few items, I came across this post that I think some people with the condition Bechet’s Disease, another Vasculitis condition would find this post on the blog ” Essential Bechet’s “of interest.

On To The Business of Churg Strauss

Posted by Lew on August 5, 2009

Here is my latest web cam concerning my new efforts to raise not just awareness about CSS and Vascular Disease in general, but about my future efforts to raise funds for the Vasculitis Foundation here on this blog and through other efforts…

Okay, so this is what will be ” My Business ” , the business of continuing efforts to raise not just awareness, but to raise funds for continued research for Vascular Diseases in general, so that someday there may be answers as to what causes these diseases…but more importantly…that there will be cures for all of them…and I want ” YOU ” to know that I am here along with my wife and daughter for the Long Haul…until my “Business ” is finished.

The Afternoon Of Life-A Post By Steve Pavlina

Posted by Lew on June 16, 2009

Evening Everyone.

A few months back, I was doing an experiment on the idea of just how important ” A Positive Mental Outlook ” was in dealing with my Churg Strauss Syndrome condition. Part of doing that experiment wound up having me find different people to follow and get inspiration from. One of the people I wound up following was Joel Osteen. I found Joel to be a breath of fresh air, and I had become a convert of his when I was dealing with the loss of my father and dealing with having my mother living here with us.

Another person who I wound up discovering, but I admit did not follow as much was Steve Pavlina who has the his own self titled blog.

Steve has been in the business of helping others through Personal Development for some time now, and it just so happened that I reconnected with his blog today.
