Breakfast The Most Complicated Meal Of Your Day

Posted by Lew on February 15, 2010

Hi and thanks so much for returning to my blog. RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

Ever wonder what the most complicated meal of the day really is…well in my opinion, it’s breakfast.

And of course it’s the most difficult because it’s the most important. a good breakfast in my opinion can really make or break the rest of your day, but just why is it ” The Most Complicated  Meal Of Your Day?”

I account this to Time…

I happen to be off from work today, and well due to the fact that I have more time to decide what to eat…the choices become more complicated.

My First Year With Churg Strauss Syndrome: The Battle For Normalcy Continues

Posted by Lew on June 7, 2009

I think the title for this post says it all pretty succinctly.

First, let’s go back to my doctor’s appointment this past Friday afternoon.

The appointment was with my Pulmonary doctor, Dr. Nasour, who immediately told me that he was surprised to come back from vacation to find that I had been hospitalized…so I wound up going through just what had led to this latest episode, and after that explanation, he proceeded to explain just what it was that he thought had happened and why.

After that explanation, he had checked my blood test numbers, and they fell within the INR parameters and he was pleased with them, so no increase in my Coumadin dosage for the moment.

Of course, in the end, blood clots can and usually are vascular in nature and of course so is CSS, so this more than likely is another CSS complication.

Another Day Ends-A Positive Mental Outlook

Posted by Lew on January 19, 2009

Okay, all in all ( other than the dreaded SNOW! ) today was a decent day all in all.

Still seem to have stomach problems, and for the life of me, I can’t figure that out yet. Anyway, while Blood Sugar should be at the low end of the spectrum, around 90-110mgs before a meal, and around 130 to about 170mgs after a meal, I seem to still be on the low end of this scale usually falling between 80 to 100mgs on average a meal, and I do not think that for me this works very well.

It’s funny, but before I was diagnosed as being pre-diabetic this past August, I never worried about this aspect of my life, truth to tell, I’m not sure that I should worry about it now…I can honestly say I felt a lot better ” Not taking A Blood Sugar Test ” everyday, and I think I felt better also hovering around 120 to 170 mgs a day on average.

There is a good chance that I will take a closer look at this aspect of my life in the near future.

A Positive Mental Outlook, Week2, Day5 Comes To An End

Posted by Lew on January 16, 2009

Hi Everyone.

Well another day ends in this ongoing experiment and all in all this was not a bad day at all.

Wound up meeting Sue at ” Shoprite ” to pick her up from grocery shopping and we both decided that we should grab some dinner out, so we wound up at ” Friendly’s Restaurant ” and yes, I actually was a Good Domestic Guy. I did not cheat and have any sweets ( except for a small sip of Sue’s left over Fribble ) what so ever.

Now, I should tell you that Fridays at my job we always have a ” catered ” breakfast which includes Donuts, Pastries, and Cookies…of which for the past two weeks I have not partaken of.

Another Friday ritual is the ” Bagel Stop ” on the other side of town. I get a bagel for myself and my partner in crime in Purchasing, my friend Lissette.
