Good morning everyone ( at least it’s morning when I started this post or article depending on just how long this goes! ) and welcome to ” Lew’s Quest To Talk With Oprah! ”
Okay, I’m sure a lot of you out there reading this post are shaking your heads and saying ” Lew Newmark, Your A No One! ”
” Why Would Oprah want To Take The Time To Even LookmAt You Much Less Speak With You On Her Show? ”
The legalization of Marijuana over the years has always been a hot button topic with both sides of the aisle having their thoughts, opinions and arguments for and against the idea.
It took several years for the legalization of the drug for Cancer patients, and now I have to wonder if just maybe Marijuana should be looked at for other medicinal uses.
This article was prompted by an article that I just came across by the Portland Press Herald Online titled “MaineVoices: Marijuana still unproven for many ills by Charles Radis ( who I am, assuming is a Rheumatology Physician ) who say’s that “ In my own practice in rheumatology, I am increasingly asked, “Will you prescribe marijuana for me?”
As I’m trying to get things done as far as getting help with doing a fundraiser for CSS, and having to do some overtime on the job over the past few days and a whole lot of other things of a personal nature I have not really been able to do too much blogging as you may have noticed this week…but I did run across what is an older article that I just found on the Vasculitis Foundation Canada site.
This tale is about a woman named Cindy who was diagnosed with Behcet’s Disease back in 1996.
But before I go any further I’ll bet that those of you out there in my audience who are just basic people may be wondering just what Behcet’s Disease actually is anyway… WAIT! There is more to read… read on »
Okay, this is not really a piece that has a Churg Strauss focus…but I just can’t help adding my two cents here..even worse I’m probably going to play devil’s advocate with this one.
Apparently, a Mr. Christopher Tappin, 63, from Orpington is in a bit of trouble. Tappin has been accused of selling arms to Iran.
In about two weeks from now, he is going to have to face an extradition hearing in which his fate will be decided as to whether he will be have to come to the US to face charges.
Hi and welcome to part 3 of my series called ” My Second Year Of Living With A Rare Vascular Disease: Churg Strauss Syndrome “, and I want to talk about how important I think the ” Mind ” really is when you are living with a vascular condition or any other type of serious health issue.
As some of you who have been reading the blog lately have noticed, I have really been focusing on the mind and it’s possible connection to helping us recover from Churg Strauss, and I do want to say here that I really think that this mind/body connection factors into many other areas of recovery…as a matter of fact I can speak from personal experience as I was privy to this happening with my father back in 2004.
My dad had been a long time smoker. At least two packs a day, and I think that I’m being conservative.
Of course my dad was diagnosed with Emphysema, a chronic respiratory disease, and like most diseases it did not just effect my dad, it also effected our family as his condition would get progressively worse over the ensuing years.
As I said in the first part of this series, I knew that this would become more than a single post, and if you missed my opening salvo into this you can read it here.
I’m actually started to write this post at my job during breaks and lunch today and had all of the best intentions to finish up this second post the first evening after the original post was published…but sometimes the best laid plans…you know the rest of that sentence
So some more thoughts and reflections on living with a disease that most people have never heard of..:)
Perception is a pretty funny thing to figure out isn’t it?
I’m starting this post late Monday evening, June 7th, 2010 after doing some writing for money through Text Broker, and to be honest with you dear readers I already know that this will be more than just a single post, as I am going to take a look back at life after a second year with a disease I had never heard of two years ago.
There is going to be an event held in Cambridge, Canada that I want to bring to your attention…
Fighting vasculitis
It’s another first for Cambridge.
The Vasculitis Foundation of Canada, with headquarters in this city, is holding its first walk to raise funds to expand its program of assisting in research, patient education and the awareness within the medical community.
On June 26 at 11 a.m., Mayor Doug Craig will officially start the walk in Riverside Park. Dr. Simon Carette and Dr. Christian Pagnoux of Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto will be on hand for an announcement.
I’m always thrilled when I see articles like this one on the Cambridge Times.Ca website ( or blog, it’s so hard to tell anymore if a site is an actual website or a blog! ) as it means more funding for research into the vascular condition and there are so many.
